The HUE Process: Turning Everyday Suffering into Everyday Freedom
Leader: Brendalyn Batchelor
Type of Program: Special Theme
Prerequisites: Experience with the See Hear Feel family of techniques, especially Feel Flow.
Fee: $20 per person
Every day we're hooked by thoughts, emotions, unpleasant sensations, cravings, habits, and compulsions. The usual response is automatic reaction. But Unified Mindfulness offers another possibility. In this highly experiential session we'll explore a simple yet powerful process—Hook, Urge, and Equanimity (HUE)—that transforms reactivity into freedom. Through guided practice, personal inquiry, and real-life applications, you'll discover how increasing equanimity in the presence of hooks and urges naturally opens the door to wiser choices, greater peace, and lasting relief from suffering.
There are no preparatory readings.

Response Challenge - Training to Meet the Unexpected
Leader: Nathan Blakemore
Type of Program: Drill/Accelerator
Prerequisites: Familiarity with the U.L.T.R.A grid, particularly the Appreciate Theme with the See, Hear, Feel In technique
Fee: $20 per person
Unified Mindfulness offers a gargantuan buffet of techniques, and promises that through systematic practice we can train to become less driven and distorted by our experiences, instead becoming more motivated and fulfilled by them. In this session we will look at our internal responses to external stimuli, sight and sound, applying UM's systematic approach to contemplative practice in order to meet life's challenges with more balance rather than friction.

How Rest Leads into Flow
Leader: Ines Aulló Pérez
Type of Program: Special Theme
Prerequisites: Familiarity with the Rest family and Flow family of techniques, including the Expansion/Contraction Flow version
Fee: $20 per person
In this 4 hour program, we’ll explore how Unified Mindfulness techniques can support us when life feels physically intense: summer heat, chronic pain, inflammation, fatigue, or just a sense of being worn out. We’ll begin with Feel Rest, learning to detect, create and rest in small islands of support, neutrality, or ease in the body, even when discomfort is present. From there, we’ll gently open into Feel Flow: all the subtle movements of breath, vibrations, hums, warmth, and emotional current that become easier to feel once the system is more settled. After the two first explorations we’ll go a bit further and explore Flow in the Expansion/Contraction dimension: how certain sensations seem to expand or contract (or both at the same time), and how the whole field of body experience can feel wider or more condensed. Over time, this exploration can allow sensations that first feel rigid or intense to become more movable, spacious, and easier to work with. The aim is to help you discover, in your own way, how a bit more somatic rest can open the door to feeling more flow, even in the midst of summer heat, fatigue, or chronic pain.
All levels of meditation are welcome!
