Nurture Positive

Leader: Malin Rozon
Type of Program: Foundations
Prerequisites: None
Fee: $20 per person

Nurture Positive is one of the technique "quadrants" in the Unified Mindfulness (UM) ULTRA grid. You can think of it either as a category of specific UM meditation techniques, or as a category of techniques from world traditions. For example, lovingkindness phrases/mantras, Tibetan deity visualization, and Christian prayer can all fall within this category of practice, which aims to transform your personal behaviour and experience in ways that you understand to be more wholesome, more positive. In this session, you will be provided an introduction to how Unified Mindfulness sees these kinds of techniques, and how to approach them so that they can be unique sources of insight at the same time as being sources of comfort and personal transformation. As this session is open to beginners, there will be ample instruction and time for Q&A, in addition to time spent in guided practice.

In preparation for this program, please:

  • (Optionally) Read from Five Ways to Know Yourself:

    • Chapter 1 – The Way of Thoughts and Emotions, pp. 21-25;

    • Chapter 5 – The Way of Human Goodness, pp. 67-73.

Flow would be helpful, but guidance will be provided
Fee: $20 per person

This is Part 2 of the October offering for ADHD. While this can be a stand alone session, for those who missed part 1, viewing some of the recommended short videos, as well as a little reading would empower you for part 2. We will ground ourselves with a very brief review at the beginning of the session. There will be opportunity for Q&R (questions, reports and other discussion) throughout the session, in addition to microhits of rest or flow breaks. We will continue with evidence based mindfulness practices for ADHD, including Mindfulness of Emotions, and Mindful Awareness of Presence and Interactions. For emotional dysregulation and to help establish a practice of self care, we'll get an opportunity to work with powerful, evidence-based compassion for 'self and other' practices. Most importantly, there will be opportunity near the latter part of the session for you to create a plan for moving forward post-call using these practices or others of your choice.

A Sensory Journey: From Sensation to Meaning

Leader: Jenny Diakolambrianos
Type of Program: Special Offering
Prerequisites: Familiarity with the See, Hear, Feel family of techniques, including See, Hear, Feel Good and Feel Rest
Fee: $20 per person

How much of what we experience comes from our senses, and how much comes from what our minds make of it? Through a series of guided activities, we'll discover how external sensory experiences interact with our inner world of mental images, inner dialogue, and emotional sensations. We'll explore three sensory categories: SEE | Visual Exploration: Discover how images evoke different interpretations, associations, and emotions; FEEL | Somatic Awareness & Breathwork: Explore the connection between physical sensations, emotional responses, and patterns of thought and HEAR | Immersive Sound Bath: Experience how different sound healing instruments evoke physical sensations, emotions, and mental formations. Our goal is to deepen self-awareness, cultivate curiosity, and discover greater freedom in how we relate to our experiences.
